Building a closet onto an existing wall, closet will be 33-34 inches deep and 80 inches long. In searching for studs, the stud shows up at 30 inches for depth, but I want depth 34 inches. The only walls needed will be a 34 inch wall and the front wall 80 inches with 72 inches being sliding doors, which means not much of a wall and from ceiling to floor it measures 89 inches. Would really like to know how I can have solid and sturdy walls at the depth of 34 inches if the stud show up at 30 inches for depth on existing wall and in the ceiling, please help, thank you.. My first time...
had a closet installed by son in law he did not finish. had to do the shelf and pole to hang clothes on. but i tried to find the studs, but could not find where they were. i used a kit which had everything a person needed to finish the closet. i put up the kit, but the weight of the clothes tore holes where the nails had been. how do i find the studs. i have a stud finder but that didnt seen to help me .
